About
I paint Murals on indoor and outdoor walls, as well as Portraits on canvas, and Hand-Painted Lettering that I learned from my Grandfather.
"Zito is one of my very favorite artists, partly because he thinks of himself as an artisan (he likes to make paintings on commission) and partly because he's just a really fine and inventive painter. I have two of his paintings, one is a portrait of Lee Marvin (from Coffee & Cigarettes) and one of the Ethiopian master musician Mulatu Astatke (from Broken Flowers). I value them greatly. I hope for a few more in the future. Hats off to Zito!" --Jim Jarmusch
I was raised in a family of artists and have been painting all over New York City, New England, and parts of Europe for over 20 years. I love painting in all its forms. I am happy to take direction, work out ideas, and create artwork to order. I have a lot of experience in many aspects of painting and I have spent decades developing an extensive set of skills. I take great care with everything I do. My goal is always to make certain that my clients are satisfied with the work I create and the level of professionalism with which I execute it.

We had an amazing experience working with Zito on a mural in our home. He was professional, creative, and incredibly detail-oriented. The finished mural completely transformed the loft space and exceeded our expectations.
Highly recommend if you’re looking for something unique and beautifully done!

I was looking for something different to give my grandson as a Christmas gift. I decided to find an artist to paint a portrait of him with a Spiderman face mask. I received the final product within two weeks. The quality of work is exceptional. Zito understood exactly what I wanted. I could not be any more satisfied and fully recommend him for your next portrait.

FAQs
What should the customer know about your pricing (e.g., discounts, fees)?
My pricing is based primarily on the following...
1. Size
2. Materials
3. Level of Detail
4. Time (for Live Painting at events)
So if you have a clear idea of what you want, I'd love to hear about it. If not, let me know what you do have for ideas, images, or inspiration, and we will figure it out together. I have been doing all of these things for quite a while and I may offer some things you weren't expecting.
And I do my best to tailor my offerings to suit all budgets and levels of magnitude.
You should call me!
What is your typical process for working with a new customer?
The best way to sort out what you want and how I can make it happen for you, is via an in-person meeting, zoom call or phone conversation. We can go over your ideas, you can send me photos or sketches, and we can come to an agreement on an option that works for your budget.
What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
I have a Bachelors degree in Fine Arts with a specialty in Painting from The University of Massachusetts at Amherst and I have studied in arts programs at Wesleyan University and The University of Hartford. Both of my parents were fine artists and I credit most of what I know to my family, including the calligraphy and hand-drawn lettering which I learned from my Grandfather. I have a relentless thirst for knowledge and I spend a lot of time in museums and galleries, soaking up art history and I am constantly sketching, writing, painting, and film-making - just to name a few.
