Introduction: I am an independent college consultant and counselor. My first priority is to establish a rapport with the student, so that I can gain a solid understanding of the student's individual needs and the needs of his/her family. I view this relationship as a true partnership which will result in the development of a comprehensive plan for the college admission process. Initially, I meet with the student and parents to assess the student's progress through an individualized college counseling session. The initial meeting involves information gathering including obtaining an interests inventory, goal setting and discussing the student's academic and testing history. Based upon the information I received from that initial meeting, I will assist and advise the student in the college search or selection process. I will also counsel the student regarding appropriate testing related to college entrance and placement including PLAN, PSAT, ACT, SAT I, SAT IIs and AP exams. The number of sessions varies for every student depending upon his/her individual needs, year in school and overall focus. I also offer other services. These are focused sessions that are designed to address the needs of students who may need help with only one component of their college admission process.
