FAQs
- What should the customer know about your pricing (e.g., discounts, fees)?
Not all jobs are the same and neither are my clients, however I still like to keep things simple and transparent. I give my clients two options: 1) Cost of materials & contractor services plus a low 10% design fee, or 2) a reasonable hourly rate.
- What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
I hold an Associates in Architecture from Three Rivers in Norwich, along with certificates in construction management and drafting. I am currently near the end of a first professional Bachelor Interior Architecture from Boston Architectural College. Shortly after completion I will become NCIDQ licensed which requires CEUs to maintain certification.
- Describe a recent project you are fond of. How long did it take?
I recently did a pro bono job redesigning a little girls bedroom. Based on her wishes I developed a fairyland theme room. Green carpet with leaf patterns, lavendar walls with a mural of a castle and rainbow by a local artist and blue ceiling. I brought in a new bed, bookcase system, desk and chair donated from a bare woods furniture store. She wanted rainbows everywhere so in addition to the mural I painted the bookcase in rainbow stripes for her. I added a simple valance over the bed for a princess canopy feel and hand painted castle stones and ivy on the valance. The little girl was so joyous and greatful for her new room; which made the giant hugs she gave me the BEST payment ever. My heart was filled.
