- What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
I am continually finding ways to stay current, whether it's through continuing educational opportunities, design publications, design shows, or simply checking out the latest at the many vendors I use. As the founder and Director of the School of Interior Redesign, I must stay current not only for my own clients, but also so my students will have the best, most current knowledge of the industry.
- What types of customers have you worked with?
I have two types of typical jobs. The first is for those clients who simply need assistance pulling everything together. They may be starting from scratch or they may have almost everything they need. Either way, I work with them to ensure everything works together, from flooring to furnishings, fabrics, colors, and accessories. The other common job is for clients who need assistance in preparing their homes for sale. So much more than decluttering and depersonalizing, staging prepares your home to show in the best possible way - and for the least expense - so potential buyers can experience how it will feel to live in your house as their new home.
- What advice would you give a customer looking to hire a provider in your area of work?
Having an idea of the look and feel you want is very helpful. Photos from magazines and websites of rooms you like are a great plus, even if you're not sure what it is you like about the room. My job is to help you figure it out. Don't worry about style, color, or cost. Just select images that speak to you, even if the rooms you like are different from the rooms you need help with. We'll work to pull it all together for you.
