Introduction: Because I'm not all about money I put people first. I understand that a PC is no longer a luxury, but a necessity. I'm willing to work with people to solve their computer problems. I do have a full time job as a computer (Apple, Dell, Lenovo), tech at UConn, so I am not able to respond within the times generally requested on Thumbtack, but if you can work around my schedule I will save you money. Ed did an outstanding job all the way around, from the time I contacted him to the time I picked up the computer at his house. He knew what the problem was and gave me an extremely reasonable price to fix it, and when I dropped it off he went right to work and fixed the problem. When I came back, which was within two days, he talked with me for a half hour just explaining what he did and how I can maneuver around, appreciating the fact that I know little about computers. I should mention that he was willing to meet me half-way between his house and mine, but I chose to drive to his house. I'm very pleased with his work and his help in patiently explaining things to me.

PC harddrive cleaned and new operating system loaded. Service was quick, drop off and pickup were easy. Price was OK, comparable to other quotes. Ed was friendly and willing to answer questions I had about buying a new unit as opposed to fixing.

What should the customer know about your pricing (e.g., discounts, fees)?
No complicated pricing. The materials cost what they cost. I show the client the invoice and do not mark it up. My labor is fixed. And , I usually drive to their site.
What types of customers have you worked with?
Change Motherboards, monitors, hard drives, recover lost data, restore hard drives and optimize performance. Then I teach them how to keep it that way.
What advice would you give a customer looking to hire a provider in your area of work?
It's not all about price! Make sure you know what you are getting and how much it's going to cost upfront. Google parts prices for themselves, to ensure they are not over paying.
