Hi, I’m Toby, the photographer behind For The Taking Photography, based in Niantic and serving southeastern Connecticut and the shoreline.
I photograph weddings, engagements, portraits, and special events with a natural, heartfelt, and storytelling approach. My style is a mix of candid moments and gentle direction so you can feel comfortable, present, and fully yourself in front of the camera.

Highly highly recommend! Toby is such a joy to work with. Weve had maternity photos taken for 2 pregnancies and absolutely loved both sets. Toby does a great job making you feel comfortable, directing you, and getting a combination of naturally posed shots and candid shots. He uses the landscape and lighting to his advantage to get wonderfully composed pictures. Hes also a pro at editing, for example editing pretzels out of a toddlers hands that you used to bribe the toddler to cooperate . The pictures are turned around very quickly as well, which we appreciated! We werent originally planning on getting maternity photos but we are so glad that we did- we love them so much!
