Introduction: Having studied under renowned Chinese medicine masters at the Hubei TCM Research Institute and the Hubei University of TCM, as part of a Ph.D. program in China, I have a great deal of clinical experience in both China and the United States. My ongoing research in the acupuncture field covers frontier techniques that are quickly gaining popularity.
For example, the "abdominal acupuncture" technique has been received by patients with enthusiasm due to its relatively pain-free treatment and its effectiveness. For patients who cannot accept needles, we can also discuss alternative treatment options.
Other areas I have effectively treated patients for include pain management from various causes -- i.e., trauma, arthritis, headaches, chronic pains, etc.; allergy issues including skin rashes; acne; weight control when coupled with an appropriate diet; recovery from paralysis due to stroke; various digestion problems and more.

Numerous GI doctors visit over 9 month period for my stomach ulcer and treatment complications hobbled me with intensive pain and depression resulting in a short term medical leave. 11 prescriptions and Xanax side effects prompted me to seek a better alternative. Yans acupuncture covered multiple internal medical conditions for my stomach pain, GERD and excessive heat/heart burn which had radiated to my side and back. I initially sought Yan's help because I had back pain that neither chiropractic nor physical therapy seemed to dull. I started to see Yan once per week and soon, not only did my back pain subside, but I was sleeping better too. I was a first time patient of acupuncture and had some anxiety about the needles. Yan was understanding and compassionate- she made me feel very at home and safe in her care. I highly recommend Yan to anyone who is looking to improve their physical, emotional, or spiritual health.

I am an acupuncturist, and I am very, very picky about who I see for my own treatments. Yan is AMAZING. She is compassionate, caring, professional, and spends much of her time studying and researching techniques to hone her skills. Yan was recommended to me by a friend, and I have been seeing her for approximately 9 months. I had been experiencing significant digestive discomfort, low energy, poor sleep, and had suffered from high levels of stress and burnout. I am so much more relaxed, and my symptoms have abated with her treatments. She is amazing at what she does and is very knowledgeable when it comes to effectively addressing and treating your complaints. She is always professional, pleasant, and accommodating. Yan has been providing acupuncture treatment for me since mid-May. My main complaints are migraines and acne. I've had acupuncture before in California and Maryland, and in my opinion, Yan is quite good. I'm certain that her treatments are helping tremendously. I've stopped all prescription medications for the acne and cut back on medications for the migraines. She is friendly and professional and obviously very caring and committed to helping people become well. The treatment sessions are wonderful, and I always feel relaxed and energized afterwards. I highly recommend her.
