There are plenty of videos on YouTube on how to play Smoke On the Water. Free chord charts are a Google search away. More-or-less accurate TABs can be found on Songsterr.com and UltimateGuitar.com We don't know what we don't know and if the road to greatness can be found on go-to guitar sites, you would already have realized your goals. There is no substitute for working with an experienced, passionate instructor who is committed to helping you reach your own musical goals. I offer private instruction at my student's homes, offices and online. Zoom/Skype/FaceTime lessons are effective for most students, and less ideal for others. I've been taking lessons with Chris for about a year now and I have matured my playing significantly as a result. Chris is the full package when it comes to a guitar teacher. I say this because beyond being masterful player, Chris also has the ability to adapt to my learning style, keep me on track with customized lessons and follow up, and make our time together fun while maintaining a friendly and professional relationship. Chris is a master at taking my guitar playing goals and synthesizing them into palatable lessons. Under his tutelage for the past two years, Chris's methodical approach has led me to see a vast improvement in my skills as a guitarist. Such an interesting personable guy that my kids routinely interrupt our lessons to spend time with him, Chris is also unfailingly prompt, patient, and down to Earth. No one in this life should be at once so talented and genuine, yet somehow Chris nails both sides of the coin. I truly look forward to my weekly session with Chris and canât recommend him more highly.

Chris is an amazing teacher. My 9 year old always looks forward to lessons. He uses many approaches to help kids learn and underhand and appreciate music. Classes are always an exciting mix of activities including of course playing music, listening to music, analyzing different elements of music, sharing about reactions and how the music feels, learning how to read music and all sorts of fun jokes are always included. Chris knows how to individualize and makes kids feel proud.

I'm very happy I found Chris to teach me guitar after feeling stuck in a rut for a few years. Chris is a great guitarist and understands my goals to get better. He layers in enough theory to provide some navigation as we go but he also makes sure I'm focused on the fun aspect to playing guitar and learning the things I set out to accomplish. I would highly recommend Chris to teach guitar at any level (in person or via zoom). I look forward to our lesson every week and feel I get better with each week that passes!

Chris is terrific. He seamlessly blends the necessary nuts and bolts of technique, music theory and instrument familiarity. As a result - and even though I’m about as green they come - my guitar has quickly becomes a playground for me on which to express my own musical creativity. Super holistic and really enjoyable way to learn. Highly recommend!

What is your typical process for working with a new customer?
-We assess short, medium, and longterm goals -We learn songs chosen by the student and develop a repertoire -We discuss music theory and relate it to their favorite songs -If interested, we record originals and covers in the lesson on Logic Pro (music production software on the laptop)
