FAQs
- What should the customer know about your pricing (e.g., discounts, fees)?
SHP is a professional, insured, team-based pet care company - not a gig or hobby service, and our pricing reflects that. We specialize in recurring weekday dog walking and hiking, and our best rates, priority scheduling, and access to premium services (travel care, overnights, evenings, weekends) are reserved for clients on a weekly recurring schedule. A few things to know upfront: - All new clients complete a $40 Meet & Greet / Behavior Assessment before services begin (includes a lockbox for secure key storage) - Services scheduled on weekends or outside 9:00 AM - 4:00 PM on weekdays carry a $10 surcharge - Travel care (drop-in visits and overnights) is only available to dogs we see weekly, after a minimum of 4 weeks as a recurring walking or hiking client - Drop-in visit travel care requires a minimum of 3 visits per day - Boarding requires a paid overnight trial stay - Cat visits are a minimum of once per day - we do not offer every-other-day visits All pricing is transparent, provided in advance, and billed via credit card weekly or monthly depending on the service.
- What is your typical process for working with a new customer?
We start by learning as much as possible about your pet, your home, and your routine to ensure we're the right fit. Safety, comfort, and consistency are our top priorities. If we're a good match, we schedule a $40 Meet & Greet / Behavior Assessment at your home. During this visit, our team reviews your pet's routine, temperament, handling needs, access instructions, and care preferences. We also provide a lockbox for secure key storage, and your pet gets to meet us in a calm, familiar environment before services begin. Once onboarded, you'll have access to our scheduling system, detailed service updates with photos, and a trained care team who knows your pet.
