My partners & I are developers, primarily doing spec high end residential projects in Greenwich & the surrounding area. This project in particular involved the design of a 2 family luxury townhouse on a very tight infill site near downtown. Each house was approximately 6,600 SF with high end finishes, with the exterior to be classic & timeless. Approximate sale price $5,000,000.Our interior designers recommended Brad DeMotte after working with him on other projects, as they were very impressed with his work. After meeting with him as well as other architects, we chose to hire Brad based on his experience......specifically his design ability & the quality of the construction drawings. The initial design concepts were very close to our vision & program, so he was clearly listening & responding to our comments. As the design developed, it just kept getting better as it was being refined. Getting the initial concept right is one thing, but we were equally impressed with his design ability to develop it further down to the little details. He was always very responsive (whether by phone or email) & always met our deadlines. The construction drawings were equally impressive....very detailed, accurate & thorough. We didn't involve Brad during construction because we really didn't need to, as the drawings were that good. We can't say we've had the same experience with other architects who were nonresponsive during construction when questions or problems arose. He did visit the project numerous times during construction & offer advice, even though not being paid to do so. To me, this says a lot about his customer service & that he truly cares about his projects. In summary, we were very impressed with Brad & would surely hire him again & recommend him to others.Jan 17, 2018Review from Google
Brad was excellent from day one. He graciously took the time to sit down and explain the scope of our project and the various items that would need to be completed, before we even hired him for the job. His attention to detail and responsiveness are excellent He came up with an excellent design for our home and was able to help us navigate a few bumps in the road as well. His plans include every detail and are very nicely done. I would highly recommend Brad for any project.Nov 20, 2018Review from Google
I wanted to add and extension and a full renovation to the upstairs of my house. Brad and his team guided me through the process of the design phase and helped me create a full additional master suite, as well as a fully modernized kitchen area. Brad also helped me choose a construction company and monitored the progress throughout the project, The finished product was fantastic and beyond my expectations.Dec 13, 2018Review from Google
Brad DeMotte is our architect on a new home and pool house. He been able to produce a construction plan exactly as we described, and he has done so in a timely and professional manner. He has been read readily available by phone or email throughout the process. He was worked very closely with our builder and has been on site during construction, which has been very valuable. I would definitely work with Brad again, and I highly recommend him for anyone needing an architect.Dec 3, 2017Review from Google

- What types of customers have you worked with?I do a wide range of projects in any given year, ranging from large custom homes, smaller modest homes and additions & remodeling projects of all sizes. I try not to turn down work, & will do finished basements, finished attics, decks, etc. While I have my own personal preferences, I design houses in a wide range of styles (shingle style, colonial, farmhouse, arts & crafts, etc.).
- What advice would you give a customer looking to hire a provider in your area of work? The architectural phase is the most important part of the project....this truly is money well spent. Investing in good design is the single best dollar you can spend when building. Trust your design professional, as they have a wealth of knowledge to share with you. Be aware that there is a wide range of talent out there, & you will get what you pay for. Look for an architect whose work resonates with you, as that is a sign of compatibility.
