When you're hiring a provider, for any service, examine the quality of their work. Is it basic? Exceptional? Are they well-connected and practicing what they preach? You can use some sites like Klout and PeerIndex to get a sense of how successful they are at what they do. But don't let such numbers be the deciding factor. Whoever you partner with to help you build your platform has to understand *you,* your business and what it means to build a platform.
