Michael Lamb provided voice and acting lessons for our son for several years. Thanks to Michael's knowledge and expertise, our son was selected to play Michael Banks in Mary Poppins on Broadway, and also performed singing and acting roles in a number of major Hartford area regional theater productions. Michael always made himself available to us whenever our son needed some last minute coaching to prepare for auditions. He is especially gifted at being able to help each of his students realize their peak performance through his unique ability to instill confidence through his guidance. He is also adept at making the lessons a fun experience through his great sense of humor. Michael Lamb is well deserving of his reputation as a premier voice and acting instructor in this region.

My son has worked with Michael in many capacities since he was about 8or 9 initially in his summer projects and then voice and acting lessons. Most recently he has worked with him around preparation for college auditions. I chose to purchase a package of 6, 45 minute coachings at a time at his studio in South Windsor. There isn't any way I can give justice here to Michael and the extensive preparation my son received from him. You just need to see for yourself. Their coachings ranged from choosing appropriate songs and monologues for auditions to refining them to a level of comfort and confidence. Some schools required pre-screen video taping of his material prior to a live audition. Michael has state of the art equipment that perfected the presentation of the material. He cut CD's, he emailed finished products to my son to forward to schools, he re-recorded material to appropriately meet the particular criteria of the school. Michael went above and beyond to provide my son with the best preparation for his auditions. Some was very last minute and Michael worked to fix or prepare audio material beyond working hours to make sure my son was able to submit it on time. The experience has been invaluable and, as a parent with no knowledge of college auditions, I'm not sure I would have been able to guide my son properly without Michael's help and consultation. Michael is always on time, is professional and extremely knowledgeable in his consultations regarding college musical theater expectations. He maintains a positive approach with his students while working them hard to get them to where they need to be. For parents, the comfort of his studio makes it worthwhile sitting and waiting and relaxing! A final comment, there are many on-line coaches that one can purchase who will offer tips and advice and will SKYPE with you to train you for auditions. They are VERY expensive and you pay for every little piece of consultation you may request. Michael's package is personalized to just your child and is very reasonable. He knows your child and what works best for him or her. It is important to know that he does not charge you extra for asking questions that are above and beyond what monologue or song one should choose. My son is still in the auditioning process and continues to work with Michael to refine his pieces prior to each audition - but I see a level of confidence with him after working with Michael that was not there before! I highly recommend students interested in Musical Theater or Acting or Vocal Performance, give consideration to working with Michael.

I am taking lessons with Mr. Lamb for singing and acting at the studio in South Windsor. I love his approach and techniques when it comes to singing and the advice he gave me for improving the monologues really helped. I always look forward to coming to the lessons and love working with him!

My daughter has taken private voice lessons with Michael Lamb since she was 11 years old. She grew into an amazing singer having performed in many shows, select choirs in high school and now in college. When she needs feedback for an upcoming audition, Michael is always there to help. Michael is so talented and supportive of his students (parents too). He is awesome!!!
