FAQs
- What is your typical process for working with a new customer?
I begin by learning about the aquarium, its inhabitants, current equipment and any concerns the customer may have. I usually request photos and basic information such as the tank size, filtration system and maintenance history so I can understand what may be needed. During the first visit, I inspect the aquarium, test the water and evaluate the condition of the filter, substrate, plants and equipment. I then explain my recommendations and confirm the work and pricing with the customer before getting started. After completing the service, I review what was done, provide guidance for keeping the aquarium healthy between visits and recommend a maintenance schedule based on the tank’s individual needs.
- How did you get started doing this type of work?
My love for fishkeeping started at a young age from seeing my grandfather’s aquariums. I was always fascinated by the fish, plants and the little ecosystems he created. That interest stayed with me, and as I got older, I began keeping and maintaining aquariums of my own. After more than eight years of hands-on experience, I decided to turn that lifelong passion into Soundside Aquatics and help others create healthy, beautiful aquariums they can truly enjoy.
