Sorry this pro can’t do your job, but we know other pros who can.
Introduction: My mission is to help you to be a better gardener by providing coaching; to make gardens more sustainable by using and promoting proven organic methods; and to increase bio-diversity by encouraging the use of native plants and the creation of plant communities that sustain wildlife. I specialize in perennial gardens. You can hire me to maintain and improve the garden you already have. I'm available for weekly visits (length of visits would depend on the size and condition of the property). As much as possible, I use hand tools: shovel, trowel, rake, broom, hand pruners, etc. Very occasionally I use battery-powered cordless tools. I don't mow and I don't blow in keeping with the concept of tender land care: using my hands to tend your garden without noise and pollution from combustion engines. Maintenance services provided are as follows: - Check for possible problems and make recommendations for necessary treatment - Note plants that need dividing, transplanting, or pruning and perform these activities with homeowner approval - Stake plants as necessary to maintain a tidy appearance, and train climbing plants - Deadhead annuals and perennials to encourage extended or continuous bloom - Recommend perennial and/or annual plants to fill gaps in the garden if any, with an emphasis on native plants, and with homeowner approval, and obtain plants and install - Weed and edge Coaching services are provided. As a coach, I will work alongside you in the garden, demonstrating techniques and answering your gardening questions. I can show you how to have a lush, beautiful garden without spending a lot of money on soil amendments, fertilizer and mulch. You may have much of what you need on your property already, in the form of last year's perennials, annuals, and fallen leaves. With our help, you will become a knowledgeable and more confident gardener. I am an alumna of the UConn Master Gardener program (2009). I am also an artist (oil painter) and have formerly practiced as a registered architect. I have been gardening in Connecticut for 25 years.
