Introduction: SCHOOL SUPPORT: Feeling overwhelmed and struggling with your school work? Help is on the way!  I offer K-12 tutoring for all subjects, and test prep. 1 on 1 sessions, scheduled at your convenience. I work with different types of learning styles, visual, auditory, as well as accommodate kids with learning challenges and special needs. Well versed with public and private school curriculums. ABOUT ME: I'm an award-winning educator (Top Pro 2021, 2020, 2019, 2018, 2017, Best of Thumbtack 2016) and founder of the dynamic education company ConnectPrep. I teach all subjects (K-12), AP/IB subjects and test prep (ACT, SAT, SAT subject tests, ISEE, SSAT, PSAT, SHSAT, and the TACHS test). My goal is to redefine “tutoring” by using innovative teaching methods to find solutions for our students. I connect concepts, simplify, and create opportunities for students of all ages to excel in the classroom. As a result the majority of my students score in the 98th or higher percentiles on the ACT and SAT. LEARNING CHALLENGES: I also have extensive experience working with students who have various learning challenges such as ADHD, CAPD (Central Auditory Processing Disorder), Dyslexia, and EFD ( Executive Function Deficit). COLLEGE ADVISING: If you are in need of College Advising, I have an incredibly high placement rate with students who have applied to the most competitive universities and programs. We help our students build their own brand and stand out from the rest of the crowd. The goal is to make well informed choices and learn about strategies that will help you differentiate yourself from your peers and other applicants. My most successful students are the ones who carve out their own path with the greatest amount of impact and action taken towards their goals. These are some of the college application components we work on: Evaluate all and assemble a college list Letters of Recommendation Networking Letters Resume Internships/Extracurricular Activities Essays Application Options (ED,REA,EA,RD,Transfer) Interview Prep (If Needed) Complete and Review all Applications Financial aid and scholarship qualification strategies A partial list of college acceptances: Numerous BS/MD programs with average acceptance rates <5%, all majors and specializations, Cornell, Northwestern, Washington University in St. Louis,Penn, Harvard, Stanford, UVA, UMich, Middlebury College,Colby College, Wesleyan, Bates, UVA, Wake Forest,Emory,Pomona,Columbia,NYU (Honors/Stern Business),Yeshiva (Honors),University of Florida,University of Miami,Southern Cal,UCLA,University of Wisconsin,University of Chicago,Duke,Amherst,Yale,Cal Berkeley,Boston College, UNC,Carnegie Mellon, George Washington, Dartmouth, Brown,Williams, Oberlin, Case Western,William and Mary,Vanderbilt, Occidental, RISD, MIT, Villanova, Princeton,Oxford,Cambridge,McGill University, Georgetown, University of Wisconsin, Boston University, Boston College, John Hopkins, Northeastern, Harvey Mudd, Rice, Notre Dame, Richmond Many of my students have been awarded scholarships and financial aid that has covered significant or even 100% of tuition costs. There are many great colleges to choose from and I work hard to ensure my students choose a school that aligns with their future goals. The fit, environment, programs, etc... are areas that I really focus on. Some schools are also more generous with financial aid packages and have larger endowments. I am very transparent with this as it's always wonderful being accepted, but the finances have to work for each family. I love teaching and always being in a creative environment that varies everyday. The reward of seeing my students overcome challenges, gain confidence, and reach their goals is incredible!

We reached out to Jeremy Fine at ConnectPrep to find an academic tutor to help our 7th grader improve his writing skills and overall reading comprehension. We were connected with Wendy Cheng who is an amazing tutor. She is very patient and diligent and really helped our son end the year with a significant improvement in his grade. I would highly recommend Wendy as an overall tutor. Also, Jeremey is extremely responsive and very easy to work with to ensure a perfect match is made in regards to whatever academic area your child is looking to improve. When our son goes to HS and is ready for test prep I will be reaching out to them again.

As a person who was a little more than rusty when it came to arithmetic, Manny was really helpful getting me refreshed on my math skills. With a bachelor’s in biology and all my university math credit being earned in high school AP/IB exams, I was definitely out of practice. I’d already gotten into graduate school but I wanted to prep for an entry scholarship opportunity. He was patient and efficient in his approach. This experience also helped me realize how crucial it is to have preparation and tutoring from someone who is well-versed in the exam. There were many valuable skills he taught me in the short time I had prior to my exam. His plans were able to cover a lot of ground in a short time. Manny’s outlook and methods made the exam less intimidating and results more attainable. As a tutor, he is direct, realistic, and personable. Manny is an observant and adaptive tutor as well, willing to look at concepts from different angles. He is good at visualizing and explaining concepts as well. I felt more confident in my abilities and potential after getting tutored by Manny. If you’re wondering whether you should consider tutoring, do yourself a favor and start sooner rather than later by getting scheduled with Manny. He’s brilliant. Just go for it. I’ve met my fair share of tutors and different types for subjects, university level for science major courses. I asked for his help under tense circumstances and his tutelage surprised me. Not many could’ve tutored me as effectively as he did given the circumstances. And he has all my thanks and praise for it.

Mr. Fine was referred to me by my cousin. I enjoyed working with him very much. His approach of befriending me was very effective in helping me with the college advisory process from start to finish. He developed a strategic plan to help me to meet my goals. We started with ACT preparation, followed by discussions on choosing the schools that is best suited for my studies. More importantly, he helped me improve in my writing skills which have effectively differentiated me from other college applicants. He was always there for me, guided me through every step of the way. I am happy to say with enthusiasm that Mr. Fine had played a huge role in getting me accepted into many of the colleges that I applied to and that gave me many options to choose from. In the end, I got accepted to my dream university, and I couldn't have done it without him.

Jeremy Fine is an amazing tutor for test preparation and college guidance. I came to him looking for practice to better my ACT score. However, I received much more. He gave me a planned study schedule and helped me improved my test taking. I was able to up my ACT score from a 26 to a 32 all thanks to Jeremy. I also was not prepared for the college application process, but Jeremy led me through the process and thanks to him I got accepted to Purdue University, Arizona State University, Auburn University, North Carolina State, and Texas A&M. Now I am going for a degree in Electrical Engineering at Auburn University. Jeremy keeps students engaged and ready to learn as they progress making him an awesome tutor.

FAQs

  • What should the customer know about your pricing (e.g., discounts, fees)?

I work with my families and create a payment structure to stay within their budget. I truly believe that everyone should have access to a quality education and the opportunity to advance their skills.

  • What is your typical process for working with a new customer?

Each student learns differently and I emphasize a team based approach (student-instructor-parents-school teachers) built around positive reinforcement and assessments that identify the teaching that will be most effective with each individual student. After the initial meeting, I will then create a curriculum for each student based on my assessments. As we continue our sessions, I provide a lesson plan each week and continue to monitor my student’s progress.

  • What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?

I have been teaching academic, test-prep, and study skills to my students for 10+ years. I am also a graduate of Washington University in St. Louis.
