Introduction: I have been teaching (K-8) ELA and Math for 15+ years. My approach with each student varies since everyone learns differently. I build a student’s confidence, reinforce study skills, and help them succeed with their academic subjects with a patient and positive approach. Michelle is a fantastic teacher, we are so thrilled with her being our tutor of choice. We hired Michelle to assist my daughter with reading and writing. Her patient ability to engage with my daughter, increase her focus, and build confidence (as well as motivation) has far surpassed my expectations. Michelle's teaching strategies are both effective, fun and strategic. Many of the skills focused on during the session can be applied to other subjects as well (after 2 sessions- my daughter, herself, pointed that out). Michelle is extremely thorough and -at the conclusion of each session- Michelle follows up with a summation of the lesson, evaluation of progress, and what will be covered in the session to follow. She exudes positivity and professionalism. We are so fortunate to have found her and would highly recommend Michelle to any family!

My son has benefited in more ways than I can count because of Michelle. He has become more organized and is learning an advanced curriculum in math. She is a dedicated teacher and always makes sure my child's learning comes first. My son has improved his math skills in a short time and is now scoring 90+ on his quizzes and exams. She gives me a summary of every lesson and explains what my son has been learning and what he can improve on. Overall, Michelle is a excellent role model and plays a pivotal role in my son's life.

What should the customer know about your pricing (e.g., discounts, fees)?
I work with my families and create a payment structure to stay within their budget. I truly believe that everyone should have access to a quality education and the opportunity to advance their skills.
What is your typical process for working with a new customer?
Each student learns differently and I emphasize a team based approach built around positive reinforcement and assessments that identify the teaching that will be most effective with each individual student. After the initial meeting, I will then create a curriculum for each student based on my assessments. As we continue our sessions, I provide a lesson plan each week and continue to monitor my student’s progress.
What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
I have been teaching ELA and Math for 15+ years. I graduated the University of Florida with 3.9 GPA. I am a recipient of Anderson Scholar Award as well as a member of Phi Beta Kappa, which is the oldest honor society.
