Amy Oestreicher

Introduction: I am a local mixed-media and acrylic artist as well as a teacher, having taught art, dance, and drama and in nursery and religious schools. I love helping others find their own artistic inspiration creatively, and my biggest passion is assisting others in accessing their own creative passions as a means of expression, navigation, healing and fulfillment. As an artist, my work is currently being displayed at several galleries across Connecticut. I lead therapeutic and mixed-media art workshops and currently sell my work as originals, posters and greeting cards. As an actress, I have written, starred in and directed my own one-woman autobiographical musical, Gutless & Grateful, which tells me an inspirational story from a coma, through 10 years of medical trauma, and into a life of health, vitality, gratitude and joy. I have performed this in numerous theaters across the country but also take my show to medical support groups, children's foundations, national conferences, workshops and women's shelters. My show has been in high demand for its empowering message of strength, hope and resilience and has often been requested as a motivational tool for companies.
