- What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
Mr. Kalafat is a member of the American Bar Association, the National Association of Criminal Defense Lawyers, American Mensa, Knights of Columbus, BPO Elks, and the Sigma Alpha Epsilon fraternity. He has a perfect 10 rating by Avvo and has achieved the highest AV rating from Martindale-Hubbell. In addition to having a perfect rating on the Avvo website, Mr. Kalafat was rated one of the top 10 DUI attorneys in the Northeast on Avvos 2010 Top 50 Northeast Lawyers list. Mr. Kalafat has also been selected as one of the Top 100 Trial Lawyers by the National Trial Lawyers, and has been chosen as a Super Lawyers Rising Star. Mr. Kalafat graduated from Vanderbilt University School of Law in 2000, which is consistently ranked among the best U.S. law schools and where Mr. Kalafat participated in the Moot Court program. He has spoken at the Arizona Public Defender Associations annual conference and he has presented on various legal topics at the Arizona State University College of Law and the Phoenix School of Law. He graduated magna cum laude from West Virginia University with a Bachelor of Arts degree in philosophy in 1997, where he was the WVU Arts & Sciences Graduate of the Year.
