I have been using Thumbtack for almost 4 years. I’ve hired mostly great contractors, and some that were just okay, but today Carver Construction came to my home to install a Sun Setter motorized awning and I must say that their work is A++++ Superior. I say this with full authority as I used to do all my own repairs. Why? Because I like things done with absolute perfection. I had a recent injury and was unable to install myself. Tyler, the owner of Carver Construction is as precise as you can imagine. His work far exceeded the requirements for the job per the instructions that came with the awning. He spotted things that could be done better and did them; things that John-Doe-consumer would never see or find. When he was done, I asked him to look at other projects I need fulfilled. He gave me an extremely fair estimate/price and made great recommendations of methods, means, materials and scheduling. He will be performing at least 5~6 new projects for me in the near future. It is so rare to discover an honest, courteous, efficient and reliable contractor these days. Carver is just such a contractor. You’ll get great bang-for-your-buck if you hire Tyler. I couldn’t be more pleased at how things turned out. By-the-way, his assistant, Angel, is a superb craftsman in his own right. These guys are AMAZING!

I hired Carvers to do a number of jobs. They completely remodeled a half bath (top to bottom). They installed new flooring in my master bathroom. In my kitchen they installed a backsplash and new hardware. I also had them repair a six foot privacy fence and install a new gate. All jobs were completed with a high degree of craftsmanship and done at a very fair price. I would hire them again.

This project took a lot longer than I wanted, as far scheduling. There was also a fear of tile work (my tile has been discontinued), but as on yesterday is complete. I had a very precarious leak that 3 other plumbers had looked at with no resolution, Tyler and Mike took their time doing as much troubleshooting and investigating as possible to resolve my issue. One of the problem solving methods was cutting a hole in the ceiling in my family room (beneath the leaking tub). This was professionally closed and repaired to the point that once painted you would never know a hole was there. As for the repair, I have decided to give it another 24 hours to ensure that everything is sealed before attempting using the tub. (fingers-crossed) They have also guaranteed me if there is still an issue that they will return at no charge to me to fix.

What should the customer know about your pricing (e.g., discounts, fees)?
very reasonably priced. i will work with you on pay. alot of the time i try to give a little higher price incase something goes bad and for travel time there is a minimum of 150$ for me to come out and do the job and hourly wage from there i give 10% off to all military troops
What is your typical process for working with a new customer?
i want them to know there is typically a minimum of 150$ depending on how far and what the job entails
