I am a PE coach, Science Teacher and a skilled magician who specializes in close-up magic. I am very good at grabbing and holding children's attention. I don't do the standard tricks that other magicians do. I created all of the illusions that I perform in my show. Many of the effects are based on scientific principles like gravity, air pressure and cohesion and utilize everyday household objects such as a drinking glass, a straw, newspaper, etc. I also do tricks using rope, money, handkerchiefs, playing cards, and mental telepathy. I even teach the kids how to do some tricks so they can amaze their friends. I also create balloon animals for all the children at no extra charge. When performing for adults, I blend in lots of one liners gathered from my many years as a stand up comic. I can customize my show for any age group or theme. Everyone will be dazzled, mystified, and totally blown away.

The Astonishing Houdanny did an incredible job for my son’s 7th birthday party! Dan is very professional, entertaining, prompt and organized. He has a great sense of humor and was a joy to work with. The adults and children at the party enjoyed his show and were amazed by all of his card tricks, jokes and the positive stories that Dan shared in between tricks. He was very engaging and had lots of opportunities for the audience to participate. My son was wowed by special Spider-Man Lego cards that Dan gave him during the show and all the kids had a blast with the balloon animals he brought for them! I highly recommend! The show with the Astonishing Houdanny was great!!! He was good with the kids and the adults. He showed on time, very professional, very friendly and personable. The tricks were fun and entertaining. I still don’t know how he did some of them. His background of being a teacher works great with the young ones. Very fun to be around. Our party for our 4 year old was a success. What should the customer know about your pricing (e.g., discounts, fees)?
I charge $200 for my show. I usually perform for an hour but I can do two or three hours for no extra charge. I also create balloon animals for all the children at no extra charge. I give a fifty dollar discount for seniors, veterans, police, firemen and first responders.

As a young boy I was always fascinated with magic. I read many books on magic and would do tricks for friends and family. When I was 12 years old I joined the International Brotherhood of Magicians (IBM) and became a professional.
