Dr. Lunsford was our first online tutor for a high school senior. She was struggling with understanding AP Statistics. After 1 lesson she understood the areas she was struggling to comprehend. We are booking again, and would highly recommend TutorWithTheBest to anyone looking for a strong, professional tutor who can make difficult subjects/concepts easy for someone to understand without spending hours. Highly impressed!Sep 14, 2019Verified

My son needed a little boost to get his ACT from a 32, to anything a little better. (He just took the test, so we will see!) He had 5 one hour sessions and felt like he learned so much! He really enjoyed the sessions and was able to look at how he had previously been studying in a more useful way! I will be hiring Dr. Lunsford again for my other child who will be starting high school this year! I highly recommend his services!Jul 14, 2019Verified
I’ve had lessons with Douglas for several weeks now, and he lives up to the name “Tutor with the best.” I hired him to prepare me for the praxis core math exams, and he has done wonderfully in helping me prepare.Jun 26, 2018Verified

We cannot recommend Dr. Lunsford enough! He worked with my son and brought his SAT score up so that he qualified for The 100% Florida Bright Futures Scholarship. What is interesting is that even though he specializes in Math, and my son even got him to help with his calculus homework on occasion, the biggest jump in his score was in the Reading and Writing section. My son really connected with Dr. Lunsford and feels like he can be an ally in his education, even in college, if that makes sense. Money and time well spent!Oct 19, 2019Verified

- What should the customer know about your pricing (e.g., discounts, fees)?$60 an hour. There is no need to book more than one session at a time. No commitments are needed concerning time frame - I am flexible to work within the timeframe of the client.
- What is your typical process for working with a new customer? You are welcome to book a time with me to have a consultation or go straight to the calendar to either book a time to come to me or to a mutually convenient place and I also have a wonderful program which will enable me to work with you online. It enables me to see you, you to see me, and for me to write on my screen and you see the answers appear on your screen. I can also see the things that appear on your screen when you want me to see it. I can record the entire session so that you can go back and watch it again for the things that you missed first time.
- What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?I am a retire university professor (University of South Florida, University of Florida, Keiser University, St. Leo University, and University of Tampa); I have a Ph.D. in measurement and evaluation (the degree for those who make the SAT/ACT/ASVAB etc.) and a Master's Degree in Clinical Psychology (so I also help students with memory tricks, time management, and overcoming test anxiety).
