FAQs
- What is your typical process for working with a new customer?
All of our training appointments are private in-home sessions. Before going out on a appointment we speak with our clients over the phone about the goals they have for their pet. Getting all the details ahead of time allows us to prepare a training plan before the appointment, saving our clients time.
- What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
I am officially recognized as a Certified Professional Dog Trainer- Knowledge Assessed (CCPDT-KA) by the Certification Council for Professional Dog Trainers. I have a BA in psychology and a BS in Marine and Environmental Biology & Policy from Monmouth University. I have interned at several different zoological facilities in the fields of animal care and animal training, and worked with a variety of species (Bottlenose dolphins, African Black Footed Penguins, Screech Owl, and American Alligator, just to name a few). During my collegiate career I was in the top of my class in my psychology of animal training course, animal behavior ex. ed., and various animal training independent studies. I conducted my thesis in psychology as an independent study on animal behavior. I spent my final two years of college as an animal behavior consultant for Jersey Shore Dogs LLC doing private, in home training.
- How did you get started doing this type of work?
Throughout my college career I participated in various zoological animal care and animal training internships. In my last two years before graduating I worked as a behavioral consultant for Jersey Shore Dogs LLC, and found that I really enjoyed working with pets and their owners. Because of my background in exotic animals I hope to help pet owners with exotic pets, as well as dog owners.
