I hired a worker through Thumbtack to install a microwave. He responded quickly and said he could complete the job the same day. However, when he arrived, he claimed he didn’t have all the necessary parts, despite everything being in the box, and sent us to Lowe’s for toggle bolts. Even after that, he was still unable to finish the installation. He promised to return the next day (October 9th) but texted the following morning saying he couldn’t due to hurricane preparations. He mentioned he might be available on Friday but still had our $50. When I requested at least $25 back since we no longer needed the service, he refused. He took our money and left, showing no regard for standing by his work or maintaining integrity. Do not hire.
