- What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
I particiapate in industry events at least twice each year and I use tools that feed me information on a regular basis, to ensure I am aware of iindustry trends for both WordPress and Social Media.
- How did you get started doing this type of work?
In 2005 my father was killed tragically and I wanted to create a memorial site in his honor and felt like I could not trust anyone else to do it just right. This was before the proliferation of the community memorial sites available today. So, without any clue about building websites, I took a basic HTML class at a local community college and once I did that, I fell completely in love with technology and web designing. A few years later I was introduced to WordPress and became a complete junkie once I realised how powerful it was. The Social Media interest developed once I realised that it provided another opportunity to reach prospects and how easy it was to integrate it with websites. I love working with both WordPress and Social Media and have exposed myself to training and keep abreast of industry advances etc so that I can offer my clients the best in both areas.
- What types of customers have you worked with?
Websites: create from scratch, redesign existing sites, customise existing themes, transfer to new web-hosting compainies, intergrate social media, provide training, provide ongoing maintenance. Social Media: set up profiles, manage profiles with day-to-day activity, provide analysis of social media performance, integrate social media into websites. Social Media networks I work with are Facebook, Twitter, Google+, Pinterest, Instagram, LinkedIn, YouTube, Vimeo and more recently SnapChat and Vine.
