Introduction: Because I am a one person show, you will get 100% of my attention with no overhead. There are plenty of architects/designers out there, and most are very good, but you won't be their only customer and they have a staff. I am here to design your house, not mine. My focus is achieving that goal. Plus, with my software, you will get a true feel on your house. You want to see how your living room might look with the furniture you have, I can do that and it wont cost you. I found Thumbtack through an internet search. I had an idea and wanted house-plans drawn up. I entered my information and Michael responded right away. We had a telephone discussion and he got started. Michael was very enthusiastic and insightful about my project. He worked with me through changes and offered valid opinions. I am very glad to have found him. I love my house plans and can’t wait to see it become a reality!

Where to start?? Michael met with us on a Sunday and we dumped 4 years worth of planning and our vision/ideas on him! A normal meeting probably takes an hour or 2 but I'm NOT normally and our initial meeting was closer to 5 hours. I have extremely high expectations and often tell people bidding on work for me "you may not want this job because I'm very picky/OCD! He put up with my 11pm phone and text messages because when I have a lightbulb moment, I MUST share it right away no mater what hour it may be! He altered my plan several times and NEVER complained. Honestly that shocked me since he originally gave me what I told him. 3D Plan and why this is so important! I'm going to be my own GC for this build first time doing so! So far I have hired the Concrete Co, Exevator, Electrician and General Construction crew to build our home. All of the LOVED the 3D plan that was part of the package we got. At the time I didn't care about the 3D part BECAUSE I already new exactly what I wanted in my mind. What I didn't consider is how to relay my vision to tradesmen that are creating my dream AGAIN very important!!!! My general construction crews exact quote was " wow!! The 3D plan takes out all the guess work for him. He just have to build exactly what he sees! That guesswork can cost a home owner 5-10% MORE just on a bid and if the builder has to change something because the homeowner doesn't like something you could be talking several thousands of dollars when building!!!!! So putting it in 101terms! I got a 10% savings on labor because the 3D plan. That just savings was MORE then I paid for the plans!!!! Also I'm building with SIP's and Michael was able to quickly and logically move electrical/plumbing out of the SIP's that saved me an additional 5% or ($6,600) off the cost of the SIP's!!!! I've made money!!!! I will add photos and continue to update as we proceed down this process! Words don't explain how happy I am. I've already referred my sister to him. She's building a new dream home this summer. Sadly they learned the hard way of improper planing. The built new custom 2 years ago and HATE their house. She too had a customs home build.

Describe a recent project you are fond of. How long did it take?
I designed a 2,400 sq.ft. house last weekend with some crazy roof pitches. Was a rush job for a builder friend of mine. Took 4 days.. and I enjoyed every minute of it.
