Saundra began tutoring my 19 year old disabled daughter in October. Over the course of the next two months I was surprised to see the talent that Saundra had. She helped tutor in reading and English, and to say that the result were amazing is an understatement. She was able to help my daughter articulate her thoughts and feelings, there was marked improvement with overall comprehension and she showed major gains in her critical thinking skills. She was able to challenge my daughter by setting goals that were challenging and rewarding. Saundra not only created a life long professional relationship, but a lifelong friend.

She taught my daughter for a year. She improved my daughter's reading and writing skills. Unfortunately, we moved out another place so my daughter couldn't study with her further. But she is really kind and warm so we are keeping touch with her. She is an awesome teacher!!!

Saundra helped Isabella improve from reading simple picture books to chapter books. She was very patient with Isabella and helped her build her confidence. When we gave her phonics sheets, she worked through them with Isabella every week. She really helped improve Isabella's reading level in grade one. What should the customer know about your pricing (e.g., discounts, fees)?
I feel my prices are fair. My rate per hour is $50.00 an hour. For more than twice a week,I charge 45.00 an hour. If I need to travel out of my area, there might be an additional charge for mileage. For art classes, my rate per 90 minutes is 60.00. If there are more than 4 students, then I lower the fee, which I will discuss. Supplies are included.
What is your typical process for working with a new customer?
I conduct an initial consultation at no charge, either on the phone or in person. First I discuss my background and experience I have in tutoring, which is in early math and reading literacy. What are his or her strengths and weaknesses? What reading level is the student on? Where does the student learn best? Does the student need to be tutored more than once a week? I let the parent/parents know that if needed, I am open to speak to the teacher with a signed waiver. I personally feel it is important to be on the same page with the teacher. Communication is my number one priority. By the way, I also conduct Art Classes.
What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
I have a teaching certificate-from Northeastern University, located in Boston, MA, where I graduated from. (BSED) I also have an Art Facilitator Certificate from Art 4 Creative Healing, Laguna Niguel CA. They are affiliated with the education department, of Chapman College, located in Orange, CA
