I have over 40 years of teaching experience with thousands of former students and have worked with every age group, personality and style out there privately and in classroom at student’s homes, my studio, music stores, Junior colleges, private musical schools and remotely. Many of my previous students are teachers or pro musicians. My education includes the High School For Performing and Visual Arts in Houston, Tx and a BM from the University of North Texas. I am the author of my own Guitar Instruction book, songwriter, producer and recording engineer. I have over 400 original tunes/songs published on Apple Music, Spotify, etc in various styles-rock, jazz, country, blues, etc. Lessons are tailored for each student and I am available all week to my students via email or phone. Most materials are provided and the flat fee of $160 a month for one 30 minute lesson per week. Lesson slots available weekdays after 5 pm. Remote lessons only are available at this time.

My teenage son has been Joe's instructor for about 2 months now. My initial conversation with Joe on the phone was very positive and our family was excited to meet with him. Our initial meeting with Joe was absolutely outstanding. My husband is usually very skeptical about meeting people but his opinion was very high of Joe and it is evident how passionate Joe is for music as well as teaching/nurturing others. Joe's approach to teaching guitar is practical and keeps the student motivated. He focuses on ensuring a student's curriculum is both structured yet still ventures out of the box to keep interests sparked! Joe is professional and without a doubt a real person.

My daughter has been a student for over two years. Within months from beginning lessons, she was playing chords to cover her favorite songs. Joe has taught her so much in such a short period of time. Another very important factor is that she feels very comfortable with taking lessons from Joe. He is a true artist, is passionate in his teaching and opens his student's minds to great ideas all of which goes well beyond the "typical" guitar lesson.

FAQs

What should the customer know about your pricing (e.g., discounts, fees)?
My pricing system is very simple! A flat fee of $80 per month-one 1/2 hour lesson per week. If there is a 5th week in the month there is no extra charge. Generally make up lessons are not available.
What is your typical process for working with a new customer?
I enjoy speaking with new clients on the phone so I can begin to tailor my instruction to them. The first lesson is a fact finding mission for me. I like to also ensure my students have a piece of music they are working on from day one.
What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
I have a BM in Music from the University of North Texas and 32 years of experience.
