Introduction: All of my fees go to my Non-profit, to help dogs on kill lists for behavior issues. I have been the Behavior/Training Manager at two large rescues in Florida. My passion is helping dogs overcome their issues to become happy and fear-free. I have a soft spot for rescue dogs. I am well-experienced with leash reactivity, dog to dog aggression, fear, physical abuse, and neglect, as well as all other behaviors. All dogs can make progress. My goal has always been to help dogs, not to make money. I bring an understanding and compassion to dogs that gains their trust and allows me to heal them.

How amazing is Thommy?! We were to the point of debating whether to keep our dog in our home or attempt to rehome her when we reached out to Thommy and what a difference!! In just a couple of sessions, he has helped us rethink how we view our girl’s behavior and with his help, we’ve decided to keep her! He’s definitely the go-to expert here!

I was having a problem with leash training and what I thought was an aggressive dog but only while on the leash. He is a gentle and loving dog otherwise that I adoped 3 weeks ago. Thommy is a truly compassionat professional and explained to why Charlie was acting that way and my contribution to that. It all made complete sense and after an hour both Charlie and I are in a much better place. I will work everyday with the knowlwdge thatI have and will not hesitate the have Thommy come back if we hit a roadblock. I highly recommend and would give more than 5 staes if I could. Elizabeth D.

We've always had dogs so we were not concerned when we rescued our new dog. Henry had issues with leash, jumping on people and dogs AND nipping. However, the serious issue was he could immediately switch from cute little dog and become hyper and what we thought was aggressive if person or dog would turn their back. Not good! Immediately we tried local pet store - group training. He was very disruptive and they suggested we add socialization via their day care program. However, after initial evaluation - they wouldn't even take him. We weren't going to let Henry fail!!! We researched and found Thommy Harley and Canine Compassion and Healing on Thumbtack. Reading his values and descriptions on his site drew us to him. Thommy walked into our home and our crazy little dog was not threatened by his calming demeanor and it appeared they instantly understood each other. Thommy trained ME by explaining what triggered Henry and why. You can't "change" a behavior if you don't understand the why. First session - I knew Henry was going to succeed! Few days later, we met Thommy in a hectic environment - shopping center, pet store, walking spaces with lots of sounds, distractions, trucks, people, animals. Unbelievable! Henry walked - no tugging on leash, gently approaching dogs and people and while he was still VERY interested in everything going on, he wasn't aggressive or barking hysterically. He seemed to understand he could be curious and confident at same time. It was all how Thommy directed Henry and ME throughout our outing! Thommy has given us tips on feeding, toys, activities and other resources to investigate. Don't hesitate to read Thommy's thoughts on dog behavior. "Compassion and Healing" tells you everything. Call him so you and your dog can become confident and joyful!

Tommy has been so helpful with improving my German Shepherd's leash reactivity and overall training. He truly cares about the dogs he works with and trains using positive reinforcement to increase their confidence. I have already noticed progress after just a couple weeks and would definitely recommend Canine Compassion to anyone looking for a smart and reliable trainer!
