- What should the customer know about your pricing (e.g., discounts, fees)?
Standard piano tuning starts at $150. Travel within 25 miles is included. For appointments beyond 25 miles, a travel charge of $2 per additional one-way mile is added. Pianos that have not been tuned recently may require a pitch correction before the final tuning. A typical pitch correction is $60 additional. I measure the piano first, show you the results, and confirm the service and price before proceeding. Repairs, cleaning, regulation, and other additional work are quoted separately based on the piano’s condition.
- What is your typical process for working with a new customer?
I start by asking what the customer wants from the piano. Some customers want a concert-level result, but many simply want an older family piano to sound better and be enjoyable to play again. At the appointment, I inspect the piano, check its overall condition, look for obvious concerns, and determine whether it needs standard tuning, pitch correction, cleaning, repair, or additional service. I explain what I find in plain language so there are no surprises
- What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
I’m classically trained in piano and began working with piano tuning and repair in 2017. My experience includes tuning, pitch correction, cleaning, basic repairs, regulation work, and restoration work on uprights, spinets, grands, and antique pianos.
