Waldorf Piano Tuning LLC provides professional piano tuning and service throughout the Greater Tampa Bay area. I service acoustic upright and grand pianos, including tuning, pitch correction, cleaning, repairs, regulation, and voicing.
Every appointment begins with an assessment of the piano’s pitch, condition, and playability. I explain what the piano realistically needs, answer questions clearly, and confirm any additional work and pricing before proceeding.
Additional work is evaluated after inspection and quoted separately when needed. If the piano requires service beyond the scheduled appointment, I will explain the findings, provide a clear quote, and get your approval before continuing or scheduling follow-up service.

Mr. Waldorf was great at tuning our piano and also fixed the pedals and legs on this piano that the Movers had put on incorrectly. He was punctual, pleasant and easy to deal with. I would highly recommend him for your pianotuning needs.

I want to thank Brian for doing a wonderful job on my Wurlitzer spinet piano! It was badly in need of tuning and the sliding door that covers the keys had been stuck open for the 10 years I've owned it. He tuned it up beautifully and it sounds great!! Brian also looked up the serial number for me so I now know it was made in 1925. He also fixed the sliding door so it closes and gave me a tip for how to best clean the keys. I highly recommend Brian for all of your piano needs. He is prompt, polite, professional!! 10 out of 10!

I had a very old piano from the early 1900s that was deemed too difficult to properly fix from other people in the industry. Brian took his time and got it back to regular play-ability and gave suggestions on future care. Extremely satisfied with his immediate knowledge and upfront attitude!

I recently had Waldorf Piano over to have a look at my Baldwin Hamilton piano. After several moves and inactivity over the past 15 plus years, I decided to get back to my music and piano playing. Brian did a thorough examination on the Hamilton Upright and said there wasnt any major issues, it just needed a good tune up and minor pedal adjustments. When he finished he discussed his findings and made a few suggestions. For the amount of time he spent checking the condition of the piano and tuning, I felt the price was reasonable, better than most. He definitely is knowledgeable about his trade and is very professional in his work. Im glad to have found him, I would not hesitate to have him back. What should the customer know about your pricing (e.g., discounts, fees)?
Standard piano tuning starts at $150.
Pianos that have not been tuned recently may need a pitch correction before the final tuning. A typical pitch correction is an additional $60. I measure the piano first, show you the results, and confirm the recommended service and price before proceeding.
Repairs, cleaning, regulation, and other additional work are quoted separately based on the piano’s condition.
What is your typical process for working with a new customer?
I start by asking what the customer wants from the piano. Some customers want a concert-level result, but many simply want an older family piano to sound better and be enjoyable to play again.
At the appointment, I inspect the piano, check its overall condition, look for obvious concerns, and determine whether it needs standard tuning, pitch correction, cleaning, repair, or additional service. I explain what I find in plain language so there are no surprises.
What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
I have studied and worked in piano tuning and repair since 2017 through technical study, hands-on practice, and an apprenticeship-style experience with an experienced piano tuner and rebuilder. My work includes tuning, pitch correction, action repairs and adjustments, regulation, cleaning, and restoration of upright, spinet, grand, and antique pianos.
