We recommend to get the R-value in your attic insulated between R-30 and R-60 for homes in Polk County, Florida. The US Department of Energy recommends an R-value of 60, which requires about 17 inches of insulation.
Here in Polk County, including Lakeland Florida, the recommended insulation R-values are: Attics- R30 to R60.
