- What is your typical process for working with a new customer?
I ask questions to determine what kind of massage they would like and then customize a massage that meets those needs. I have all the necessary supplies to create a spa like experience with lotion, music and a professional table or massage chair. I do outcall mobile massage.
- What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
I have completed a 750 hour course to get my license. This course included anatomy, hydrotherapy, aromatherapy medical massage, stretching, shiatsu and trigger point work as well as Swedish and Deep Tissue massage. I completely an internship preparing college football players for the NFL Combine Draft. I studied myofascial and structural integration, which is great for athletes and similar to rolphing. I am certified in the Vodder method of lymphatic drainage through the MLD Institute. I'm certified in medical massage, reflexology, pregnancy and sports massage. I can do kinesiology taping. I have completed 80 hours of training in Esalan massage.
- How did you get started doing this type of work?
My grandfather was a massage therapist for the Royal Canadian Airforce, so I guess it's in my blood. I've always enjoyed the spa environment and I appreciate all the benefits massage can provide. I also have a sports background and massage is great for athletes.
