FAQs
- What should the customer know about your pricing (e.g., discounts, fees)?
Tuning for Regularly Tuned Pianos (tuned within one year) = $225 in normal service area, additional charge for far outside of area, such as Kendall, but can do it. If your piano hasn't been tuned in a long time, it will need multiple tunings in a short period of time, in order to make it stable again. If you play guitar, it's similar to stretching the new strings on a guitar. In most cases, I can complete the service in one day, for a discounted rate, $75-100 in addition to the standard $225.
- What is your typical process for working with a new customer?
My objective is to get to know the customer a little bit, find out what he/she/they know about the piano, and what their objectives are for each service.
- What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
I work for local stores/rebuilders, and am branching out on my own, as well.I have a degree in Music and Business, studied Piano Performance (classical), and have been playing piano since age 5. I also have a seperate associates degree in Recording Engineering. I am a Certified Piano Technician through Piano Technician's Academy, and am in process of sitting for the RPT exam. I have passed the first, will take the other two soon, and have RPT and CTE (examiner) mentors.
