My first time ever going to a professional photographer. Was a bit curious about how the experience is going to be. Todd made it a good one. Right from when I got a response for my quote till I received the final pictures, he was good and fast responsive. When I went to his place, he didn't just receive me, came out of the building and helped me till I found a parking spot nearby. As I told, this is my first time going to a professional photographer, it was a bit odd for me when he asked me to pose in different positions. I was like "How many more???" (just kidding). He engaged me in good conversation and made me feel very comfortable doing the shoot. In all, it was a different, but great experience. Thanks so much Todd!!! P.S. - Damn modelling isn't an easy thing to do...But, with Todd, it is!!!

We requested the services of a photographer for a semiformal portrait. Todd McVey replied promptly. After an initial consultation, Todd scheduled a mutually convenient photo shoot. Upon arrival Todd immediately made us feel comfortable and spent quite a bit of time with us to insure that we were satisfied with our photos. He was very detail oriented and clearly communicated with us throughout the project. We were very pleased with our final results. Todd's personable and accommodating nature simplified the process and we can confidently recommend Todd McVey's LaboratoryT for your next project.

When looking for a photographer, the most important thing to me was to find a photographer who could truly captured the emotion of joy, laughter, and love. That is exactly what I got from Todd's beautiful pictures! Working with Todd was soooo much fun and he made it effortless for me to to find the energy during my 7 months of gestation to smile and capture the most precious time of my life with my family. Aside from this, Todd was very quick to respond (usually the same day) to all my inquiries. I was truly blown away when I saw my maternity pictures at the beach and I could have not asked for more as they all are absolutely perfect.

I recently started a new corporate position and needed updated professional headshots. Todd was recommended and he did an outstanding job working with me, taking more than 50 + shots and helped me narrow it down to the best five. Todd did a wonderful job working with me and making me feel as natural as possible for the best possible outcome. Since posting them, I have received many favorable comments about how great my new pictures came out. I would highly recommend Todd, he is a true professional and an excellent photographer.

  • What should the customer know about your pricing (e.g., discounts, fees)?

My pricing reflects the job, i.e. if a client wants a portrait instead of a headshot it can be in most cases a different lighting set-up. Portraits tend to be more complex. Also, the number of final pictures matter as well, when it comes to processing the image files & retouching of each picture. My fees: Headshot Package #1 • Photo session (shooting only) is for up to one (1) hour • One (1) edited/retouched final image • 10 unedited images • Total cost: $195.00 Headshot Package #2 • Photo session (shooting only) is for up to one (1) hour • Two (2) edited/retouched final images • 10 unedited images • Total cost: $275.00 Headshot Package #3 • Photo session (shooting only) is for one and a half (1.5) hours • Up to Five (5) edited/retouched final images • 10 unedited images • Total cost: $350.00 • There is a 50% deposit required to book a session, this is non-refundable and is applied towards the total cost. • All cost are for in-studio sessions. If session is for a location there is a travel fee of $50.00 applied. • Hair and Make-up if needed is a separate cost (usually $125-$175) which you are responsible for paying. Portraits • Sessions start at $475.00 • Because portrait sessions are more involved all details need to be discussed prior to date of session. Thank you.

  • What is your typical process for working with a new customer?

Talking, so that we both are on the same page in terms of the scope of the project and deliverables. Very important, to get all the details.

  • What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?

Over 20 years working as a professional Art director and Photographer. Can't believe it's been that long.
