My experience with hiring servers was awful. I told her what I needed before hand including a timeline of when dinner and cake would be served for a small 20 person wedding. She arrived 15 minutes before dinner was supposed to be served with 2 servers and said it was due to traffic. She was supposed to leave after dropping off her servers, however she did not mention that her servers could not serve any drinks that had liquor in them and that they also did not speak english. Even with the owner staying to help, they could not read a seating chart to serve the meal, they would place a plate of food and then realize it was the wrong persons and come back and pick it back up to give to someone else, they didn’t finish serving one tables food before moving on to the next, 1/3 of the wedding party spoke spanish to communicate with the servers however they still did not come around to offer drink refills for what they could serve, they did not ask if anyone wanted extra food or needed anything, and they stood in a corner staring at us the whole time. When they were finally asked to get the cake out and cut it the owner hit the cake and cake stand on the table 3 times almost dropping the cake (it was an 8 inch one tier cake nothing elaborate). We hired them for 3 hours however after we realized they were literally doing nothing but staring at us, we told them that they could clear the table and trash and go home. They were there for maybe 1 hour 45 minutes. When I reached out the next day about a refund and explained my frustrations, the owner argued with me that it was miscommunication on my end and my fault. We paid $370 for 3 hours of service and she tried to offer me a refund of 1 hour of service for $35… she did not even apologize. Considering the mother of the bride and myself, the bride, had to step in to serve the meal and the drinks, we would have been better off not hiring them at all.
