- What is your typical process for working with a new customer?
When I work with a new customer, I ask them for a brief description of the project, including the following information: 1) Word count (if applicable) 2) Preferred editing platform (Google Docs, Word with Tracked Changes, Adobe, etc.) 3) Preferred mode of communication (email, text, phone call, etc.) 4) Deadline for final draft delivery I may also ask to see the draft in order to evaluate the complexity of the content. I am happy to sign an NDA, or any other agreement that legally bars me from sharing any portion of your piece, although I do guarantee customer privacy out of general professionalism.
- What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
I received a Bachelor of Arts in English Literature from the Harriet L. Wilkes Honors College at Florida Atlantic University in 2017, and graduated with a 3.8 GPA. My time in undergrad required me to produce two to three 1,000-word (or more) papers per week; I often maintained that output while also proofreading and editing many of my classmates' papers. Upon graduation, I had published an academic paper in FAU's Undergraduate Research Journal, completed and published an honors thesis, and presented a close-reading research project at two academic conferences. My writing is high-quality, but has also withstood the intense vetting process required of academic publication and presentation. I carry these qualifications and this confidence into every piece, and I don't settle for anything less than excellence. I'm familiar with numerous academic style guides, but I've also used organization-specific style guides; when I edit a piece, the style guide of the author's choosing is open in a window next to it.
