WOW!!!!! Thats the very best way to describe my dealings with Kevin of KevsComputers!!! He was just awesome!!! I am NOT tech savey in the least, and he never once spoke to me in that inside language of the "tech smart". He and I exchanged emails, he emailed me a quote, and it was so reasonable, and we had a really nice connection via our text messeges, that I had to pick him to do my work. When I was finally able to make an appointment (my issues, not his), he was here a few minutes early, which is so much better than late! I had some ideas about what I wanted done, hence the quote, but when we finally met face to face, he had a couple of suggestions. These ideas were perfect for me, and I decided to go ahead with them. This increased my total bill, but not by very much, and they were for software that I preferred to something I was trying to use now. I gave him a thumb drive to back up my operating system, but it wasn't big enough (thanks for nothing AGAIN, BestBuy), so he charged me for a bigger drive and returned my old one. Funny, but what he charged me was half what I paid for the drive I bought on the advice of those nitwits at BB!! He was completely professional and so very patient with me. He was honest, totally up front, nice, and funny, too! He did everything I wanted, and gave me the new software I had been shopping for, at such a great price that I couldn't resist! also, he must have spent almost four hours with me, explaining what he would do, and then what he did do, and showing me how to access it! this guy was so reasonable, and seemed like such a great guy, and at least for me, thats what he turned out to be! I made a wonderful choice with KevsComputers. He is now and will always be my "computer guy"! LUCKY ME!!! ps: I looked into this on many different sites. On Thumb Tack alone, I considered five different companies, along with a lot of other research on other places locally for this job. I even got four other estimates. - What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?I am Comptia A+ certified. I am also certified with all of my partners. These partners include Microsoft, SOPHOS, Kaspersky, Lenovo, HP and others. I am constantly taking seminars and training courses to stay on top of the ever changing technology and cyber-crime.
- How did you get started doing this type of work?I started my own computer repair and technology help center to rid the community of rip-off artists. Too many people start a repair business and have no real training to speak of. I have been repairing computers and electronics since the 1990's. I have a Comptia A+ certification, and as with anyone in technology fields should. I Also take training seminars weekly from my partners. I am a single parent of a child with Spinal Muscular Atrophy and having my own business allows me to have the flexibility to take care of her and my customers without sacrificing quality and great customer service.
- What types of customers have you worked with?I work with a diverse group of customers of all ages and skill sets. I have customers that are power users and want the latest and greatest upgrades to make there computers faster and with retirees who just browse the internet email and look up new recipes to try out. I also work with specific and sometimes special needs such as physical limitations or color blindness and even the legally blind to come up with solutions to their everyday issues.
