This company transformed my home into something you would see in a magazine. Colin Lajoie replaced my carpet with the tile that looks like wood. He accompanied me during the purchasing process and gave his honest opinion. The job took two weeks and throughout the process I was given daily updates. Colin went above and beyond from beginning to end. I will definitely use him for all my future remodeling needs. The end result was amazing. I would definitely recommend this company to anyone interested in remodeling their home. They were diligent, prepared and provided quality work. I need a wall knocked down, floors installed and a custom made bookshelf ASAP. I had little time due to other obligations, The Flooring Giant had this very large job done in 5 days. They cleaned their area at the end of each day, kept the project within budget and they were very pleasant to deal with. I certainly plan to use this company again for many more projects in 2015.

After after telling Colin we would like to potentially go with him, he came to my home for an onsite estimate and DOUBLED his square footage rate he told me over the phone because "the job was too small and not worth his time at that rate." Going against my better judgement we decided to go with him anyway. After agreeing to an installation date he asked if he could come get a "down payment" to lock me in for that specific day so nobody would take my spot. Not sure why he needed a down payment on a $250 job when I had already purchased the material but again, against my better judgement I trusted him and gave him the 50% he requested. Well the day came and he asked if he could cancel on me and I said no since he was so instant on getting a down payment to lock me in and reserve that day for me. And of course he was a no-call no-show and was unreachable via phone, text, email and thumbtack. I had to put a stop payment on my check (which still cost me $20) and after several weeks, I still have yet to hear from him. These are the facts, and FYI I am writing this review from a calm and non-grudging POV so you don't think this is slander and I am trying to trash him, so please choose your contractor wisely.

What should the customer know about your pricing (e.g., discounts, fees)?
Almost everything in flooring is charged by the square foot. The pricing can vary greatly however depending on the type of material, the size of the material, the layout and design of the project as well as whether of not their is any demolition or prep work to be done before beginning the project. This is why we always make sure to do a free in home consultation to help eliminate any variables and give our clients the most accurate quote possible and avoid any surprises during the project.
What is your typical process for working with a new customer?
The process often begins with an free in home consultation. We think it is vital to take our own measurements and visually inspect each job to help eliminate any surprises down the road and to also insure that we are giving our clients the absolute best price possible. We also normally like to shop and purchase product with our clients so we can give our input on the design and quality of the product our clients choose. We meet with our clients at the end of each day to make sure everyone is on the same page in regards to the progress and timing of the project and if they are not available we will call them to insure they are kept in the loop. Once the project in completed we stand behind our work with an 18 month installation warranty.
What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
Aside from being in and around construction my entire life I am currently studying to get my general contractors license. I have my bachelors degree in business management and I am constantly talking with other professionals in my field about any new trends or techniques that may have come about. As a company we take every opportunity to send our employees to training classes throughout the south east to ensure that we are as knowledgeable as possible when it comes to installing your project.
