FAQs
- What should the customer know about your pricing (e.g., discounts, fees)?
I try to price every project fairly for the work involved and give you good value for your money. I’m not interested in winning a project by giving the lowest number and then cutting corners or adding surprises later. I’d rather understand what you want, figure out the right way to do it, and give you a realistic price from the beginning.
- What is your typical process for working with a new customer?
For a smaller project I can usually give a price after seeing some pictures and messaged details, though I will still do a visit before we sign any contract. For medium size projects I create a detailed Description of Services and Mayerials and the price for the work, and then we go over it with the homeowner, then sign the agreement and I collect a deposit and get to work. For larger Additions and Custom Homes we often sign a Design Development Agreement and work on preliminary architectural and engineering plans, and then bid the project out going off of those preliminary plans to make sure we have real pricing from the necessary subcontractors. I had done a few cost plus jobs, but usually it’s a fixed price arrangement where I give a quote for a project and that is the homeowner pays, unless a Change Order is needed for something additional.
- What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
I have been doing this for over 26 years, currently partnering with a licensed professional with over 40 years of experience, remodeled 6 of my own rental homes, my wife is an interior designer so I have done a lot of work for what she created in the last 19 years, I just love organizing a project, seeing ideas turn into reality. I get paid to do what I love!
