- What should the customer know about your pricing (e.g., discounts, fees)?
Depending on the level of editing needed, my rate is $0.75 to $1.50 per 100 words. When your manuscript is ready for a final proofread before submitting for publishing, I’ll be happy to do a final proofread for a nominal cost.
- What is your typical process for working with a new customer?
• We schedule a complimentary phone call to chat about your book project. • I offer you a sample edit (5-20 pages) of suggested corrections and comments. • I email you an agreement outlining the project terms, cost, and timeline. • You pay a 20% deposit to get your project booked on my calendar. • You email me your manuscript. • I get to work polishing your manuscript; emailing you frequent progress updates. • I send back your manuscript with my marked-up suggestions.
- What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
I have over 15 years in the publishing industry. For many years, I read and reviewed hundreds of manuscripts and books for each book-buying season. I found that I loved working directly with writers and focused on honing my copyediting skills.
