About
This current version of Thumbtack is mostly a scam, meant to ripoff contractors. I suggest reading the reviews here, but you should contact contractors directly and bypass this soon-to-be dissolved company. The class action suits are building and they'll end up in the same place as other scam companies, like Home Advisor, Angie's List, etc.. *******************************************. Thank you.

Bob & his team were excellent! 10/10 recommend. They completed our project quickly and did an awesome job. House looks beautiful. We will definitely be calling Opticks Painting again for future home projects.

Details: 2 rooms • Walls • Trim • 10 - 14 feet (high ceiling) • Repainting, with a color change • Fair - minor holes and scratches

I highly recommend Opticks Painting. They did a phenomenal job and went above and beyond from advising what would work best for each room to excellent cleanup in the end. All the rooms turned out looking great especially the repainted bathroom cabinets from an initial brown to a gorgeous blue gray color. I would definitely use them again for all future paint services.

Details: Home • 4 rooms • Walls • Under 8 feet • Repainting - color change • Fair - minor holes and scratches • The painter • No, this is not new construction • No, I will move things out of the way myself

Incredible experience! Bob and his team were punctual, extremely skilled and worked very quickly! Transparent with costs - no surprises. I can’t get over how great of a job they did painting my apartment, inclusive of cabinets and countertops. Would recommend 100% -

FAQs

  • What should the customer know about your pricing (e.g., discounts, fees)?

*I think every prospective Thumbtack customer should know that we get charged a fee for every communication with a potential customer. That's fine, but please know that we get charged to give you that price for free. The most important variables that effect the price of a paint job are: 1- What color and finish are the walls/ceilings now and what color and finish would you like them to be? 2- Condition of the walls/ceilings/trim? 3- Is there furniture or will the area be empty? Once those questions are answered, then a more detailed in-person estimate can take place. Also, “touch-ups” never match, unless you’re touching up something that was very recently painted. If you want it done correctly, don’t ask for “touch-ups”. Plus, busy/good painters couldn’t be bothered and you’ll end up with the bottom of the barrel!

  • What is your typical process for working with a new customer?

Basically, I usually ask a few questions to get started and make an appointment to go and see the job in person to give a more accurate quote.

  • What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?

I've been a painter for 32 years and have extensive experience in all areas of the trade.
