- What should the customer know about your pricing (e.g., discounts, fees)?
Our pricing is simple. We estimate the cost to replace a roof. Add a fixed percentage and then issue a Guaranteed Maximum Price proposal for the estimated cost plus the fixed percentage. We then buyout the material and labor and reveal the cost to the owner. The owner only pays the actual cost plus the agreed fee, which is always less than the proposed amount.
- What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
We subscribe to all of the industry publications and have alerts posted on various web sites that automatically notify us of new developments or announcements. The roofing industry has really advanced in recent years and the manufacturers have worked diligently to deliver better and longer lasting roof products. Continuing education is an ongoing endeavor and required for license renewal in states where contractors replacing roofs are required to be licensed.
- How did you get started doing this type of work?
We are a family of builders that have been replacing roofs for over 80 years. Today, we a general contracting firm with over 3 billion dollars of construction experience. The idea for a new business model for a roofing company came to us several years ago. After a year of testing the idea for feasibility and sustainability, we decided to create My Roofing Company of North America and build a network of suppliers, construction managers and professional tradesman who could work together as a "Hive" and deliver high quality service and roof replacement at substantial savings to home and business owners. The business model is working extremely well for us and our clients. We currently have over 450 supplier locations in our database and network and are on track to have over 400 Account Managers and 1200 professional Installer crews by the end of 2013.
