In the civilian world, if you have lapse in judgement and find you charged with a crime, often times a fine and community service is the punishment.
A Military member charged with DUI for example, will face the charges in State court and then receive disiplinary action from his/her command, putting their career, benefits, housing, and GI Bill in jeopardy.
I enjoy defending our Soldiers and helping make the best out of a bad situation. These young people put themselves in harms way to defend our country and when facing charges, their whole world comes crashing down. The government has all the resources it needs and wants to make a case against their own. As a former JAG, I use all my experience and resources to stand up for our Military members when they feel defeated and lost.
