Introduction: My personal training certification required a 500 hour course that included training in nutrition, anatomy and personal training, plus clinical time in the gym to practice different training techniques. Other certifications only require a weekend seminar with very little content, or no practical experience at all. It is very gratifying to see my clients get the results they are looking for. Some are losing weight, gaining strength and stamina, some are able to improve their health to the point of being able to stop taking medications such as blood pressure medication and cholesterol medication.

    Make sure the trainer you hire is qualified and has a legitimate certification. There are many training certifications available, some require little to no training at all to obtain.
