Introduction: Hi, I'm Bill. I run a little handyman company that I call Grandads-Workshop. I can do smaller, and sometimes unusual, jobs for a fair price and at a great quality. Here is why:
Big companies need to charge a big price, because they have big overhead. They prefer to do big jobs, so they can charge a big price. They don't like to do small jobs, and when they do, they still charge the big price. The more money a big company charges, the less work they have to do to make a profit. It's a vicious cycle.
As a small company (me and the occasional helper), I don't have big overhead, which is a big reason for my lower rates.
Smaller jobs give me more variety in the things I get to do. I would much rather do several small jobs here and there each week than to be stuck on a big project for several weeks. I also get the pleasure of seeing many more customers who are satisfied with the quality work I do. It truly is the little things that make a difference. Don't get me wrong; I can and will do the occasional larger job (hence, the occasional helper), but I still get more pleasure from the smaller jobs.
So, if there is some job that you want done for a fair price, give me a shout. Chances are, I want to do it. Dont forget, I also perform unusual work too.
