Rich was an amazing person to work with. He worked at all hours to get me my best on my taxes. I am blessed and lucky to have found a tax person with such knowledge. Highly highly recommend!

Incredible. Just amazing. Very knowledgable about the tax laws and recent rulings that allow them to provide superior service. Will definitely use again. In fact, I would recommend them to my own mother.

1776 Tax Prep helped me with my personal income tax declaration which was already overdue (my fault!) because I live outside the country and was not sure what my responsibilities were. It was fantastic that I could do this all remotely. After selecting their services, Richard assigned my case to a colleague in another office that specializes in foreign earned income (which was one of my requirements) and I was able to speak on the phone to explain the general situation and determine what information I needed to send. The preparer who helped me, Mark, was very helpful and knowledgeable and once he had the information, the turnaround was very quick. Overall it was fantastic service. I just had two minor concerns. Taxes require significantly sensitive information (address, SSN, DOB, etc.) and as I am living in another country I had to e-mail them. As a general rule, I am most comfortable e-mailing to a business e-mail address, not someone's gmail account, but you do what you need to do. What made me a little uncomfortable was that I e-mailed that sensitive data to Mark immediately after our phone call and requested that he respond ASAP to confirm he received it so I knew the information was in the right hands. I did not get a quick response on that so I had to have Richard follow-up to get Mark to respond to my e-mail. But he did receive it so that's all well and good. The only other concern is that when Mark did send my documents and I reviewed them, the numbers were all correct, but some of the information (addresses formatting) was not correct so I had to request some edits before official submission (it's a good thing I am a tax accountant - but not US tax - so I was keeping an eye on these errors). Mark was able to tidy up everything though and as I said, overall very satisfied with the service. I just recommend to them that if clients are sending highly sensitive information over the internet, at least provide a quick e-mail that acknowledges receipt :)

We had our return prepaid by 1776 Tax Prep for the first time and were very pleased with the experience. We tend to cringe when tax time comes around, went to 1776 Tax Prep and our return was completed with professionalism, accuracy and timeliness. Thank you for making the experience pleasant.

FAQs
What should the customer know about your pricing (e.g., discounts, fees)?
The cost of this service depends upon the level of complexity of your tax situation. Fees can vary considerably from region to region. Overall, you'll find the fees charged to be more than fair especially considering the convenience we offer and tour expertise at maximizing your refund. The truest thing we can say about the pricing of these services is "when does paying less actually cost you more? When you don't use 1776 TaxPrep.
What is your typical process for working with a new customer?
If you are a first time client we like to have a face to face meeting with you.
We can do a zoom call if you are not nearby. After that, our process is very convenient; We do everything over the phone and the web. You never have to leave your home or office.
What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
I am an enrolled agent with the IRS and I have a law degree; Enrolled Agents are tax specialists licensed by the IRS. This is the highest credential that the IRS awards to tax professionals. As an Enrolled agent, we not only pass a rigorous 3 part exam but must also attend ongoing continuous education classes to maintain that license. Enrolled Agents are focused on income-tax practice and frequently represent customers at audits and negotiate on the customer's behalf; EA's, as they are known, typically handle more involved situations. My law degree enables me to untangle more complicated tax matters.
