FAQs
- What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
We complete 30 hours of continuing education every two years. This includes national coursework and tests as well as local (state) law in addition to a selection of profession relevant topic courses.
- What types of customers have you worked with?
I do a lot of marketing appraisals, with these I tell the client the peak historic marketing periods for the area, the closed sales, the pending sales and the competitive listings as well as estimated neg. ranges and sales price range. Many Realtors and homeowners are extremely happy with this service as it tends to limit over pricing or marketing your property during the slow periods. I offer a neutral appraisal for divorce and partnership dissolution. It saves everyone time and money. What most people dont understand is that each party goes and hires an appraiser with the thought that the appraiser is working in their interest, that is never the case. With the uniform standards of professional appraisal practice and appraiser can not legally perform their duties with a bias, therefore we are always neutral. Instead of paying two lawyers, two appraisers (425 plus each) and then additional time for your attorney you just agree that both parties and both attorneys will use the single appraisal completed by our office to determine your asset (home) distribution. This can save people thousands of dollars.
- What advice would you give a customer looking to hire a provider in your area of work?
See how long they have worked in the area just because they are now local doesn't mean they weren't appraising in another state months ago.
