I started training with PJ earlier this year right around my birthday. For me, I had goals and joy jitsu has always been a hobby I wanted to get into. Luckily, he teaches it all. Initially, I reached out and told him hey I’ll come back when I can truly afford it. I came back in 6 months and he was very nice and kind he gave me a discount for my birthday and first lesson. Working with PJ is fun, he’s very respectful, and patient. I plan to continue training with him because I like his work, I like his flexibility, and his professionalism. More importantly, I love how he travels to me where I can be most comfortable and it’s convenient. PJ doesn’t waste your time, very understanding and his training is worth it. His training is serious but you definitely laugh throughout the journey as well. My advice be as open to the goal you want to achieve so you can build that rapport with him and he will absolutely help you achieve your goal. I will say YES the training is or can be expensive. (I’m doing his deal for the pay for 9 classes and get the 10th for free) But guess what, it’s worth it! I’m going to do the deal again once it ends and I’m going to keep going and going because I have been having that much fun. Great stress reliever, confidence builder, and just plain good exercise. And honestly again he’s very understanding meaning “hey it’s okay if we can’t meet this week” he’s not pressuring you to book. He’s seriously in this because he loves the sport and wants to help you achieve your goals. This is my 1 month review hope you guys have fun training with PJ.

I hired Mr Gilbride in August 2025 for PrivateLessons for My Son Daniel Curran who is 12 .Daniel has a slow learning issues and is has been Bullied in school at times. Since August I have seen a great improvement to Daniel confidence and developing Discipline also he is improving His physicial health. What should the customer know about your pricing (e.g., discounts, fees)?
Hello,
Please reach out for pricing for an hour session. I only do 1 hour sessions. I find any longer leads to fatigue and clients not getting the most of their technique.
What is your typical process for working with a new customer?
Typically we start off by having a conversation on what they’re looking to gain in their lesson. A lot of times I deal with newer students who I help by leading them through the basics. Once the are comfortable we begin to move into more in depth techniques that help build their game.
What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
I’ve taught kids jiu jitsu in the Gi and NoGi for over 10 years. I alap taught adults BJJ and striking for many years. I’ve coached amateur and pro MMA fighters over the years and have had great success as a cornerman.
For education, I do have a masters degree and for my full time job I train various learning styles on a proprietary software.
