FAQs
- What should the customer know about your pricing (e.g., discounts, fees)?
My pricing is scope-based (fixed quote), not hourly. After a short discovery call and a review of your goals, I provide a written quote that clearly outlines deliverables, timeline, revision rounds, and what’s included. The price never changes unless you request added scope—in that case, I’ll provide a new quote before moving forward. Because most ghostwriting work is protected by NDAs, I don’t share client names or full book covers publicly. Instead, I can provide anonymized samples and a clear overview of my process. Typical payment schedule: 50% deposit to begin 25% progress payment for projects extending beyond 60 days 25% final payment upon delivery (or 50% final if no progress payment applies) I’m happy to discuss options for phased milestones (outline → sample chapter → manuscript) so you can move forward confidently.
- What is your typical process for working with a new customer?
Discovery call (15–30 min): We clarify your goals, audience, voice, timeline, and what “done” looks like. I’ll also ask about any sensitive areas and confidentiality needs. Scope + quote: I send a simple written proposal with deliverables, timeline, number of revision rounds, and a fixed project price. Agreement + kickoff: Once the agreement is signed and the deposit is received, we schedule kickoff and set communication cadence. Voice capture + materials: I gather your source material (notes, drafts, recordings, documents) and run a voice-mapping process—usually through guided interviews and/or a tailored questionnaire. Outline + structure approval: For larger projects, I deliver a chapter map/outline first so we agree on direction before drafting full pages. Drafting in milestones: I write in agreed sections (e.g., sample chapter → first third → full draft), with check-ins and clear handoff points for feedback. Revisions + polish: I revise based on your notes, tighten voice consistency, and finalize for your intended use (submission-ready, publishing-ready, or internal use). Final delivery + wrap-up: You receive the final files, and we can do an optional closeout call to plan next steps.
