- What should the customer know about your pricing (e.g., discounts, fees)?
Hourly:$30 per hour covers me and the van full of tools. Parts and materials are extra. Fixed price jobs over $500 are normally quoted as written proposals usually with a 1/3 up front deposit and a performance based draw schedule. Materials can be included in the proposal or not.
- What is your typical process for working with a new customer?
A phone consultation where I gather information about customer needs.From this conversation I can usually determine whether my approach will be hourly or fixed price. Also I can inform the client about my trade experience and expertise in the areas of concern required to solve the problem.
- What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
College degree in Art. Twenty years as a custom design and fabrication shop owner building cabinets, display devices, remodel projects in homes, retail and museum environments. 15 yrs in the sign business, 10 yrs as an architectural model maker. 10 yrs exp in the Fire and water damage industry as a restoration crew leader. Solid plumber, painter, electrician and carpenter.
